Chennai goes greener

The arterial roads of chennai are undergoing a makeover, with granite slabs replacing loose kerbs as medians. Saplings are being planted to give dividers a green cover. This beautification drive is an attempt to make chennai compete with the best cities in the world. The most common plants to be grown on the medians are clerodendron, tabernaemontana and ixora chinensis.
