Bhogi is a festival celebrated in South India and it is the first day of pongal. On bhogi,people used to clean their houses and all the waste and unwanted things are collected together. Then, people will fire all those unwanted stuffs. There were raising concerns that some people are burning the plastics and rubber tyres which emits lot of smoke and gases which affects the environment. This year, the Bhogi functions were not too smoggy. The smoke level emitted was far less than last year. People's awareness is the main reason for such a change.
